MetroX Legal
Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 16, 2025
MetroX ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. By installing or using the MetroX Android application you agree to this policy.
1. Information We Collect
MetroX is designed to run mostly offline. You are not required to create an account, and we do not ask for your name, email, phone number, or other personal identifiers inside the app.
The only information that leaves your device is what the Google Mobile Ads SDK requires.
| Data Type | Details | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Approximate location (IP-based region) | Provided automatically by your device/network to Google's ad servers | Ad delivery, frequency capping, and fraud prevention |
| Device identifiers & diagnostics required by Google Mobile Ads | Advertising IDs, app version, connection information | Ad performance measurement and security |
The "Find nearest station" shortcut uses your precise GPS location only on your device. Those coordinates do not leave the app unless required by the operating system (for example, Google Play Services when requesting permission dialogs).
2. How We Use Information
- App functionality: Route plans, station lists, favorites, and settings stay on your phone.
- Advertising: Google may use the approximate location and device signals above to show relevant ads and measure their effectiveness.
We do not use your information for analytics, marketing emails, personalization, or account management.
3. Third-Party Services
MetroX displays ads through Google Mobile Ads (AdMob). Google's use of data is governed by their own Privacy Policy. To learn how Google manages information in its advertising products or how to reset your advertising ID, review Google's advertising privacy page .
4. Data Retention & Security
- We do not maintain a backend database for MetroX, so we retain no personal data on our servers.
- Preferences stored on your device remain there until you uninstall the app or clear its storage.
- Google retains advertising data according to its own policies.
5. Children's Privacy
MetroX is intended for general audiences and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal data through the app, please contact us so we can assist.
6. Your Choices
- Advertising ID & approximate location: You can limit ad personalization or reset your advertising ID from Android settings. Doing so may change the ads you see but will not affect MetroX functionality.
- Permissions: You can revoke location permission at any time in Android settings. Without it, the "nearest station" shortcut is disabled, but the rest of MetroX still works.
